The Federal Energy Regulation Commission (FERC) recently rejected the Alabama Power Company relicensing proposal. The proposal would have increased Lake Martin’s winter water levels to 483 feet above MSL, a 3 foot increase. Also, this proposal would have extended the time period Lake Martin remains at full pool during the summer.
The Lake Martin water level proposal is relicensed every 40 years.
