Overview of The Ridge on Lake Martin
The Ridge on Lake Martin is one of Russell Lands on Lake Martin’s most popular neighborhoods. The Ridge has many great amenities and is located centrally on Lake Martin in Alabama. I may tend to be partial to The Ridge since it is a Lake Martin neighborhood I personally called home, twice.
Russell Lands Real Estate Agent
In 1999, I began working for Russell Lands as a real estate agent. The new company name is Russell Lands on Lake Martin and Lake Martin Realty, but in the early days it was simply called Russell Lands. In 2000, Russell Lands released the initial offering of lots for sale in The Ridge. The first thing I did was walk every lot for sale. My intent was to be the most informed real estate agent in the company. The end result was that I became one of the first property owners in The Ridge Phase I.
Ridge Resident
My wife and I soon undertook the project of building a home in our early years of marriage. She was pregnant with our first child, Tate. A lot of people could not imagine tackling this project but we both loved it. I had the advantage of my Father being a custom home builder on Lake Martin as well as personally having an extensive background in residential construction. Before we knew it we had one of the first homes completed in The Ridge on Lake Martin.
Selling my home in The Ridge
Well, about a year later we had one of the first homes for sale in The Ridge. After selling our first lake home we became the first lot owners in The Ridge Phase II. We loved our first lake home so much we designed a 2nd generation version of the same house. We added all of the “things” we discussed doing different if we had the opportunity to rebuild the house. Construction of our second home in The Ridge went smooth, which is a great thing because we also had our second child, Gracie.
As a resident I learned a lot about The Ridge on Lake Martin. I walked the lots, hiked the trails, watched The Ridge Club be built, was a customer of the Marina and everything else. I literally followed The Ridge from the first lots being sold to today.
